Custom Pool Design
There are many options for Custom Pool Design that Lakeside Custom Pools & Spas offers. Read more below to have a general idea of some the design features that we offer. Call Lakeside Custom Pools & Spas to speak with a Custom Pool Design specialist
Plaster:
Your plaster coat actually is what seals the pool and allows it to retain water. Once your pool is plastered we will immediately put a hose in the pool (with a rag attached) to begin filling your pool. (Do not turn the water off for any reason until your pool’s water level reaches the middle of your pool tile.) Once your pool is filled you should begin brushing it down at least once a day. We will provide you with a pole and brush.
Decking:
Your decking phase begins with forming. This will often entail digging dirt out or bringing sand or dirt in to achieve the finished elevation. There are numerous types of deck materials depending on your budget. They will then pour the deck and then seal it.
- Our most popular application is the Koolcote concrete coating system, which offer extreme flexibility of design a durability of wear. Koolcote is available in many color and style combinations.
- For a truly natural look, Lakeside Custom Pools offers a variety of "natural decking materials". Choices include smooth natural river rock and pebble, flagstone and hand cut Texas limestone. These materials provide unmatched durability and seamless integration with your natural pool area setting.
Coping:
Coping is the application of materials around the perimeter of your pool. Often overlooked by other pool designers, Lakeside Custom Pools will help you frame your pool with a variety of coping options.
- Brick provides a sharp contrast to many of our decking options producing a distinct and stylish outline. Brick is available in a wide variety of colors to match your application. Choose brick as an inexpensive design element that is durable, slip resistant and great to look at.
- Safety Brick incorporates a raised lip on one end that acts as a holding rail while you're in the pool. This is a great consideration if you have children, senior citizens or others who'd like to hang on when the waves get big.
- Cantera Stone is a natural stone cut from the mountains of central Mexico and is available in five different colors.
- Natural Hand Cut Limestone is a Texas favorite! This beautiful limestone comes straight from Texas quarries. We can cut each piece and form it to the contours of your pool. I provides a clean, sleek look that is unparalleled by any imitation products.
- Flagstone coping is perhaps the best way to tie your pool into the natural landscape. Each piece is hand chiseled by master craftsman then set meticulously in place. The rough hammered edges slightly overhang the water creating an exotic effect.
Pool Start-up
After your pool is filled with water to the middle of the tile line, call us and we’ll come out and start up your pool. We will drop off a pole and brush at this time so that you may begin brushing your pool.
Pool School
We normally wait a few days after your pool’s start up before we schedule pool school. At “pool school”, we teach you how to maintain and operate your pool. We will also provide you with an “Operation’s Manual”.
Warranty
Your pool’s warranty begins after it is started up. All workmanship is warranted for one year. All Hayward equipment carries a three year parts and labor warranty. Koolcote decking carries a five-year warranty. Your pool’s structure is warranted to hold water forever. You will be given a list of warranties at pool school.
- Diamond Bright combines natural quartz aggregates, polymer-modified cement and non-fading 3M Color quartz in a stunning variety of colors. The result is a unique finish that stands up to the harshest pool environments while providing years of enjoyment. Diamond Brite's insoluble quartz aggregate is unaffected by the harshest pool chemicals and resists permanent staining. Also, 3M Colorquartz accent colors won't rust, rub off or fade like other colored aggregates because the pigment is ceramically bonded to the quartz aggregate inside.
- Pebble Tec is a patented interior pool finish utilizing exposed pebbles and specially formulated cement to create a surface that's incredibly strong and long lasting. Pebbles from around the world are chosen for their color and natural iridescence, and are combined to create a variety of unique pool environments.
